Drift follows a path of spiritual belief called Spectralism, wherein colour is a source of symbolism and meaning. Colours represent both positive and negative aspects.

Pink: life, passion, deep bonds; violence, blinding rage
—Pink ritual: shoring up physical stamina
Red: "primal" self, bravery; loss of direction, anger
—Red ritual: intervention, banishing
Orange: love, sexuality, harvest, happiness, mental clarity, diligence, confidence; obtuseness, attention-seeking, restlessness
—Orange ritual: building self-trust, revitalization
Yellow: welcoming, energizing, communication, curiosity; anxiety, over-logicking
—Yellow ritual: protection, good fortune
Green: healing, wisdom, peacefulness; materialism, stagnation, moodiness, envy
—Green ritual: promotion of harmony, empathy
Blue: untapped potential, intellect, restraint, calm, trust, clarity; sadness, mourning
—Blue ritual: meditation, gaining perspective, psychic ability
Indigo: perceptiveness, honour, devotion, integrity; extremism, impracticality, over-planning, depression, bias
—Indigo ritual: access to the divine, sixth sense
Violet: benevolence, whimsy, caring, intuition; pushover, withdrawn, prone to daydreaming
—Violet ritual: visions, self-awakening
Black: acceptance, rebirth, mystery, protection; grief, fear
—Black ritual: ridding of negative energy
White: purity, relief, focus, balance, new beginnings; immobility, barrenness
—White ritual: amplification
Grey: death (no positive meaning)

Colours often possess even more varied meanings than this, some share meanings, blend with others to modify, and it does sometimes depend on how you're taught; however, these are the most recognized meanings in the realm of Spectralism Drift is familiar with because our author gave me too much room to play with and if I don't stop I'll keep going; some of these are based on actual interpretations of colour, but not all due to just... canon elements like energon and its various colours in its different states. I might revise a little for purposes of including spark colours...

Spectralism also lends to the application/painting of designs over one's frame to indicate important or meaningful moments and experiences. These aren't direct, spelled-out things, but rather carry intent in the process of the painting, and the patterns are as meaningful as the choice of colour. The jagged lines on his face are related to forward motion, facing past, present, and future with a brave face forward.

Opt-In/Out

Drift can read auras! In canon, he only demonstrates it with Cybertronians, but in the interest of interacting with other characters, feel free to opt in or out of him being able to read theirs! Auras are generally going to be emanations of both emotional well-being and one's nature, so feel free to indicate which he can and can't see. By default, I'll assume he can't read a character and he'd have to rely more on the more mundane psychological reading of a person to get any kind of information. What colours he sees if he can read, though, are up to you; there's a ref up there if you'd like and it's not my character, and no matter if I'm familiar with them enough to make an educated guess or not, I'm not going to assign anything to someone I'm not writing.
