holoform

Holomatter avatars are hard-light holograms connected to a Cybertronian consciousness; generally they are designed to fit in with a non-Cybertronian environment and allow for greater stealth. The Cybertronian body must be near enough to project the hologram, and the range isn't indefinite.

They are capable of tactile interaction and receiving sensory data.

Some technobabble goes here, but in general (the canon isn't entirely consistent): hologram that is perfectly capable of interacting with the world, no appreciable limitation on race. Also something something further informed by the psyche.

Drift's holo is a young man, about 5'4" with tanned skin, light blue eyes, and black hair kept in a ponytail, the front just long enough to reach his chin and centre-parted, but a thick and somewhat messy braid runs along the side of his head and continues through the 'tail. Great Sword is still strapped to his back. He wears a well-worn set of army fatigues, though the colours aren't quite right (grey, white, black), the jacket open over a black shirt with some red and white detailing around the waist, and the jacket sleeves rolled up. Any patches that might be expected are too threadbare to read, and no indicator of faction among them. Black combat boots have a knife strapped to the outside of one. His pockets (all of them) appear to have something in them... and most of those somethings are probably knives? Maybe some MREs. His belt also has knives! But in the left breast pocket of his jacket instead is an old white patch with a red cross in the centre, the lines disconnected not unlike a digital clock's numbers, just as old as the others but in significantly better condition. His hands are wrapped in white hand wraps, a few nicks and scars over his forearms (and likely more, unseen).

Any further Spectralist modifications he does will be reflected on the holo as tattoos, like the jagged red marks under his eyes that run to the corners of his mouth.

(I swear I'll have art of this up so it isn't just a text ref;;)

Drift follows a path of spiritual belief called Spectralism, wherein colour is a source of symbolism and meaning. Colours represent both positive and negative aspects.

Colour significance )

Spectralism also lends to the application/painting of designs over one's frame to indicate important or meaningful moments and experiences. These aren't direct, spelled-out things, but rather carry intent in the process of the painting, and the patterns are as meaningful as the choice of colour. The jagged lines on his face are related to forward motion, facing past, present, and future with a brave face forward.

Opt-In/Out

Drift can read auras! In canon, he only demonstrates it with Cybertronians, but in the interest of interacting with other characters, feel free to opt in or out of him being able to read theirs! Auras are generally going to be emanations of both emotional well-being and one's nature, so feel free to indicate which he can and can't see. By default, I'll assume he can't read a character and he'd have to rely more on the more mundane psychological reading of a person to get any kind of information. What colours he sees if he can read, though, are up to you; there's a ref up there if you'd like and it's not my character, and no matter if I'm familiar with them enough to make an educated guess or not, I'm not going to assign anything to someone I'm not writing.
